Father's Day

I had decided to give Christian a grill for Father's Day (pretty awesome gift right??) We walked into the store and I told Christian to pick out any grill he wanted!.... After a couple of seconds he told me he didn't really want one. I was shocked. What kind of man did I marry??? lol. He was worried that it would get stolen before we reached our new place. SO instead of a grill................................................................

HE chose PARAKEETS. Yes, Birds. Personally I've never had birds before, they still kinda creep me out. However, they keep the baby occupied, their not TOO messy, and they keep to themselves for the most part. I think I can handle them for a while....... UNTIL we get a grill........ then I

shall enjoy roasting them (ha! Just kidding). That's cruel.

No one is PERFECT

These are the people I live for. Brooklyn's birth was our saving point. Each day with her is both an adventure, slightly torturous, but all in all amazing.

I was digging through our crap when I found our engagement pictures.

They bring back both good and bad memories. The day before

the engagement pictures I found out I was pregnant. I took about twenty different pregnancy tests. Each one came back positive. I yelled, screamed, and cried for Heavenly Father to let this not be true. I promised Him that I would change, I would start going to church again. I would be perfect. I couldn't take care of a baby now. If I could have one in a couple more years I could give a baby a better life. Unanswered prayers are sometimes the greatest blessings. In denial and refusing to admit the truth we went on like nothing was different. I began to plan the wedding, in the temple, and keep going as if everything was honky dory. Temple marriage was hammered into my head from day one. Who wouldn't want to be married in a white castle, for happily ever after? I didn't want to disappoint family, or let anyone down. So we put on fake smiles and kept on living. We talked about adoption. I had a family picked out, they seemed like a great couple. I was twenty. Twenty seems so young to be a pregnant, unwed mom. So we constantly looked for an escape route. We kept pushing the date of the wedding back, once, twice, three times. We both knew we couldn't go through the temple unworthily. It would be the biggest slap in the face to the Man Upstairs. I'm sure everyone knew I was pregnant, due to the fact that I lost a ton of weight and couldn't keep anything down. However, we didn't tell anyone until I was about five months pregnant. We knew we were both suppose to be together, and we promised each other we would go through the temple as soon as we both were READY. We ended up planning the wedding in a week. We did it at one of our Stake Centers here in Utah. My family and friends quickly got everything in order for a wedding. My sister designed announcements. My aunt brought all the props. My mom, did everything I could ask for. She's the one that kept me strong through it all. I NEVER wanted to walk done an isle. Not my dream. OH, and I was five months pregnant in a wedding dress. I couldn't wait for the night to be over. We never had a honeymoon, just a night in the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake. We wouldn't have even had that if it wasn't for Christians siblings. Four short months later, my baby girl finally joined us. It's a good thing that I can't change the past. It definitely molded me into the person I am today. A little less judgmental, a little more caring and understanding, and with a much stronger testimony of the Atonement. No one is perfect.

Run baby Run!

I'm gearing up for my first 10K. Have I ever been a fan of running? H. NO. Have I ever ran even a 5K? Well no.... but this race will be freaking awesome!!! We will run during the night with glow sticks! Does that sound fun or what? I began my training with my two awesome sister in laws, which I hope results in a skinnier bod for this summer season(or winter fallish season?) My husband is extremely supportive and always hints about how slender I'm looking, or "if you keep on this road you could be a model"..... Well shucks now I'm blushing. Support always helps when wanting to lose weight. Below is our training schedule..... We best get to it!

Monday - Run 25 minutes, Tuesday - Run 2 miles, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Run 30 minutes, Friday - Off, Saturday - Run 3 miles, Sunday - Off

Monday - Run 30 minutes, Tuesday - Run 2 miles, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Run 35 minutes, Friday - Off, Saturday - Run 45 minutes, Sunday - Off

Week 3:

Monday - Run 40 minutes, Tuesday - Run 3 miles, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Run 40 minutes, Friday - Off, Saturday - Run 4 miles, Sunday - Off

Week 4:

Monday - Run 30 minutes, Tuesday - Run 2 miles, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Run 35 minutes, Friday - Off, Saturday - Run 60 minutes, Sunday - Off

Week 5:

Monday - Run 3 miles, Tuesday - Run 50 minutes, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Run 35 minutes, Friday - Off, Saturday - Run 70 minutes, Sunday - Off

Week 6:

Monday - Run 20 minutes, Tuesday - Run 3 miles, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Run 20 minutes, Friday - Off, Saturday - Run 75 minutes, Sunday - Off

Week 7:

Monday - Run 20 minutes, Tuesday - Run 2 miles, Wednesday - Off, Thursday - Light 20 minute jog, Friday - Off, Saturday - Race Day, Sunday - Off

Decisions Decisions

So with buying a new house my mind has been going non stop of how I want to decorate! I've been slowly piecing things together... the first room is Brooklyn's! Her colors are going to be yellow, teal, and cream.

I'm in love with these floral lamps. I found these two lamps that people had made over at knockoffdecor click HERE to go check out all there cool stuff!!

Here is the other one I found. Help me decide!!! The flowers of course would be teal... or yellow... decisions decisions.

Over at cuttingedgestencils they have WICKED AWESOME stencils. I found one that will fit perfectly in Brooklyns room.

Imagine teal and cream flowers with a tan backdrop. ADORABLE!

Finally I have been looking everywhere for one of these jewelry holders. Brooklyn's room will have birds here and there for an "added"touch. Over at littlemissmomma she showed us all her jewelry and I fell in love with her birdcage jewelry holder. Wouldn't this be perfect??!!

Sadly, I haven't been able to find one :(

So I may be settling with this one.......

YARD SALE

So these are the gorgeous roses Christian got me. Awesome husband right?

I just got new couches that I LOVE! Now to start to dejunking the rest of my house. We have four couches, a tv, a chair, end tables the list goes on. We are going to do a yard sale at my house this Saturday and downsize!! Feel free to drop by! It will probably start at seven and end by eleven...

Life during School.......

Sorry about the lack of blogging. I tend to shut down my creative side every time another semester comes around. Two finals left and I'm done.... for three weeks!!

The HOUSE:

Or rather should I say townHOUSE. None the less, it will be mine in three months! Our offer was accepted on a town house in West Haven. I couldn't be more ecstatic! It is perfect, brand new, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, garage, granite counter tops everything on my list for a perfect house. However, it didn't have a fridge. We thought we would revise our offer to include a fridge................ the owner came back and told us if we waited three months he would build us a brand new townhouse, we can pick the colors and anything we want in it, along with my stainless steel fridge :)

SCHOOL:

Finishing this semester of with straight A's SCHWEET! Next semester should be just as easy :)

BROOKLYN:

Tyrant, terrorizer, two year old need I say more? Her adventures involve permanent marker, any marker for that fact, and coloring on her body down to my couches. She is super independent so refuses to let us help with anything hence why my floors are suddenly stained with chocolate milk...

CHRISTIAN AND I:

Doing well, we have our individual struggles but isn't that what marriage is about? Each one of us has our little korks (is that even a word?) about us and its been an interesting ride trying to make the other happy :)

We decided to have some alone time and escape to Salt Lake. We walked around temple square and then had dinner at the Roof. Expensive.... but definitely tasty! Then we took a carriage ride around the city to finish the night. Lovely and Perfect!

Ever heard of the book called "The Five Languages of Love?"

If not.... you should.

We recently have been reading it together and it's amazing how things hit right on the nail.

The book contains 5 love languages which are: Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Service, and Quality Time. I had assumed Christians was Gifts and Quality Time....He assumed mine was Gifts. WE both were totally wrong lol.

Anyways, read the book. It'll help your marriage. It helped ours.

FINALLY:

Christian surprised me with a HUGE bouquet of roses at work along with a smaller vase of roses for my co-workers. Cleaned my entire house:dishes, vacuum, laundry, the whole nine yards.

Awesome husband right? Love him.

Christmas Time

Black mail pictures of me with NO make-up NO nothing!! Christian gave me a cricut!! I've been wanting one forever so it was the perfect Christmas gift!

We had an AwEsoMe Christmas here at the Hancock house. We began opening gifts at 9:00am which seems really late to get started opening presents haha. Brooklyn was quite upset with us when we started ripping the wrapping paper....... I think she thought we were ruining them or something so she was going behind us trying to put the presents back together. My parents spent a couple of days with us before heading home Christmas eve. I was really grateful because my mom was able to keep an eye on Brooklyn the day after her surgery while i worked. Her "surgery" went fantastic!! Not sure if you could even call it a surgery considering she was only in the OR twenty minutes. I think she's doing much better because she's having 3 hour naps and sleeping at least 8 hours a night so its a blessing!!My mom gave Brooklyn a baby set and a stroller and clothes..... shes in love with the baby and stroller haha she's been zooming it around our house ever since she got it! Thanks mom for all you do! She cleaned my entire house, as well as organizing every closet. Did all my laundry and made delicious dinners each night. :)

We went up to Christians moms house and partied with the siblings. Christians mom gave us a GORGEOUS quilt that she had been working on for two years. It has pieces of fabric from different people in Christians family and the design of the quilt has significant meaning to Christian. I'll get a picture of it up here soon. THANK YOU JOY!
