My favorite Gal

Saturday was gorgeous!! Gorgeous weather means... shopping time with my little buddy! We weren't able to hit up the new city creek mall yet (that's next week) but we were able to hit up the Children's Place!... so after five pairs of shoes, couple shirts, four hats, swimsuit, and chap stick we headed over to my favorite place to eat... Bajios! I've decided it's kind of creepy how Brooklyn absolutely LOVES the things I craved most during my pregnancy. To name off a couple: Bajios Green Chile Chicken Salad, apples, bananas, strawberries, pretty much anything to do with fruit. I had ordered her a pork taco and myself the salad. When we sat down she looked at me and said, "um. my salad mom, not yours." Soo... I settled for the pork taco. Crazy child I have here that likes eating vegetables.
Things I need to learn not to say:
"your nuts"
"you're driving me crazy!"
"oh suck"
"oh crap"
"oh hellena"
"ya old fart"
"numb nuts"
"big dickhead"
"that's a big butt"
Just to name a few that have accidentally slipped from my mouth and the child repeated them... Mainly to her father who doesn't appreciate being told "you drive me crazy" from a three year old.
Since I was on such a spending spree yesterday I bought a bike for Brooklyn! She loves it!.. and pets it...and calls it her precious.... yup. She'd probably sleep on it if she could. Anyways. Here are a few pictures from our fun eventful weekend.

I'm too lazy to put all the pictures in order.... so enjoy!
I have to add one more thing. Does anybody else have that awkward moment when someone tells you something.. and you don't understand what they said.. so you ask,"what?"... and they say it again... and you still don't understand them... so then you kind of do that awkward laugh, and say ya..... and then run away as fast as you can.... yup. That happens to me every day of my life. Maybe I need hearing aids with my old age.

Saved by the Babe

Brooklyn came to my aid when I stepped on a jagged piece of glass. Her sunglasses and heels made the care that much better. She wiped up the blood and put a band-aid on it, saying, " all better mom, you need to wear my glasses?" I've trained her well. Don't mind my random leg hanging out in the air. My feet are dirty and I'm in my workout clothes, BUT when you're in pain anything flies.

The Random:
-Did you know once you get married you can never pee alone? Or maybe it's when you have a baby? Or a dog? Ya, that's right. Even the dog likes to join me in the bathroom. Freakin perverts! Give this mama some privacy! Oh.. along with this subject. Anytime I go into the bathroom brooklyn follows me with her stool, sits down, and proceeds to tell me to PUSH. Yup, great support system we got going on over here.
-Tanning beds make you smell like burnt flesh... obviously. I imagine if I were on the Walking Dead series the sets would smell a lot like this.
-Does anybody else hate getting in an elevator with one other person you don't know? Awkward.... I pretend I have some important paper and stare at it intently... or pretend I'm talking on the phone... or run out and take the stairs, OR just say hi to the person and pray the elevator goes super fast.
-I like Victoria Secret bras haha. Just thought you should know they aren't a waste of money!
-I'm going to nursing school in the summer... no big deal... just the biggest goal I've had for the past five years....BOOYAW!
p.s. Christian's baby hungry...... if you all didn't already know.... he's been shoving Brooklyn's baby dolls up my shirt...wow. He's pretty desperate. Poor fellow.

ya know that moment?

Don't ya love it when you slam on the brakes and the HUGE container of cheese puffs in the back seat fly everywhere? Oh wait, most people don't eat that crap... it's Brooklyn's FAVORITE junk food snack... anyways. back to the real stuff.
Hmm.

The Good Times

Someone told me I had lived an awesome, but difficult life. After reading this, I was a bit surprised. I'd never thought my life to be that difficult. I lived my life, grew up in an amazing family, graduated from high school, went to college, got married, had a kid, have a job, and bought a house. I'm thoroughly blessed. So many times people get caught up in the trials, but the truth is, trials are just like hiccups. Unexpected and quick. You learn to roll with the punches. You can sit and waste your life away... or you can grow from the trials you've
been given. I'm choosing to GROW.
I was able to stay at home the entire day with my family. What a blessing! We are always on the go so to be able to actually sit and cuddle my little Gus was a gift. I love my family, even though we may fight, kick, bite, and scream at each other, we
love each other and are continually growing closer together through the trials we have.
This past week was mine and Brooklyn's birthday. What a special week it was to reflect the day she was born. My dear friend Cori gave me a wonderful idea of sending a gift to my mother on my birthday and thanking her for giving birth to me. Awesome right?? My mom LOVED the surprise she got from my neighbor.... it's a start of a new tradition.

I'll post the daily events of our bithdays later.... but today here's to the new machine the husband gave me... it only took me an hour to figure out how to turn it on.... :) To the Good Life!

Saturday, February 25, 2012

We've kept pretty busy the last few weeks. We've splurged and went to Boondocks with a few of our family members and had a blast! As soon as our little baby niece woke up Christian was the first to hold her.... someone's baby hungry. BAD.

My family came to visit for the weekend and left the boys at my house while the "older" kids went and watched my cousin wrestle for the state championship. Who knew Costco could be so fun? We of course had to get hot dogs, pizza, ice cream, and churros!... With them being from Idaho and not getting out much we took them to Sears so they could go up and down the escalotors! Yes. It's true. It was a first for some of them. Then we headed to the movies where we had popcorn, sodas, starbusts, and m&m's. I love my little brothers. I'm always afraid that since I'm the oldest of the eight that they will forget about me.... so I try to stay in their lives as much as possible. Another plus about having my family come for a visit is.... my mom can't stop cleaning. SOooo I get a really clean house to end the fun weekend with :)

Hmm what else? ...Christian and I are both going full blast to school.... ugh.... the never ending school. We shall get through it!

Christian's birthday was about a month ago. I took all the pictures with my Ipod... which has crappy resolution so I'm not posting them right now... maybe later. It turned out perfectly!... My mom offered to take Brooklyn for the week since I had reserved a room in Salt Lake for the perfect getaway. Christian didn't have any idea what was going on and had sugge

sted to go see Sherlock Holmes. While he was getting ready I quick packed a bag and threw it in the car. After the movie I wrote down the address to the motel and told him to find it. Super cleaver and romantic right? After driving in the horrible snow storm we made it down to SLC and headed to Tucci's, a small, but DELICIOUS, Italian joint in Trolley Square. Then we went hot tubbing, then to trolley square, to Wise Guys (I had purchased tickets online to see a comedian show and once we got there they told us they were all sold out because a family had reserved it for their Christmas party, in January, so that was a no go... ) We headed to the Gateway and saw Mission Impossible 4.. or 5... whichever one it was, on the IMAX screen. Then called it a night. It was a fun weekend to spend with my now thirty year old husband. I wuv him.

Treehouse museum

My family came down for a visit and we decided to hit up the treehouse museum. Surprisingly it was a lot of fun for all ages... as you can see from the pictures :) I sure miss my Idaho family!!

On a side note, Brooklyn decided to potty train herself. Wahoo! She found some panties in her dresser and put them on and has been doing great ever since!
