Pretty Lady

Finals are finally coming to a close. One more tomorrow and I'm done! However, I've been pretty depressed this week. It feels like I'll never get into nursing school, I feel like I'm one step behind. I need a 3.0 gpa to get in, I'm sitting at a 2.89. I took the hard classes right off the bat, so now I'm paying for it. Someday................ my dreams will become a reality :)

My poor dad had surgery today :( My mom dealt with his snoring for the past twenty years and finally snapped lol. He had a really bad deviated septum so when he would sleep he would stop breathing. They removed his tonsills along with giving him a nose job :)Keep him in your prayers! Luckily he is able to take the whole month of Decemeber off and be pampered by my amazing mom.

I've been able to stay home with Brooklyn for over a week now. Truth be told, I'm excited to go back to work tomorrow!! Does that make me a bad mom? Probably. Or could it be that my child has reached the terrible 2's and creates mayhem whereever she goes? I think so. We've been battling all week to see who is in charge. She's destroyed everything in sight, colored all over her body with markers of different colors along with mascara, taken all the ornaments off the tree, tipped over the tree, smashed lucky charms into the carpet, smashed mac and cheese into the carpet, pooped on the carpet, pooped in the tub......... get the picture?

I love her though! She's a blast to watch while she sings to herself or the baby. Or dances around any time music comes on. I think I'm finally able to understand her jibberish language, so we have heart felt talks every five minutes.

School is stressful! Two more weeks.... I can do it.

Anyways I've been so excited for Christmas! I decorated everything the day after Thanksgiving! Brooklyns presents are all bought.... and need a new hiding place since she discovered them.

Also, Christian has undergone the project of remodeling our bathroom(S) YEAH! I'm pretty embarrassed to admit this, but as I was taking a shower I leaned against the wall and the whole thing caved in.... I went on a diet the next day. I shouldnt be too hard on myself considering the shower was over 40 years old... but coooooooooooooome on! I'm excited to see the finishing touches and excited to paint and design the new and improved bathrooms!

Christian and I had to give a talk on Sunday about our temple experience. Can I say..... IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! I personally suck at public speaking so I was extremely nervous for Sunday to come. I was on call for the hospital that day, so i was praying I would get called in and christian could just talk :) After the sacrament was passed I began to feel my heart pounding... it felt like it was going to pop out of my chest! I got up to the pulpit and since my hands were so shaky Ihad clasped them together. Then.... out of nowhere... an inner strenghth came out in me! I felt so powerful, I knew I had the audience captivated. I know it was Heavenly Father helping me get the words across because I know someone in that meeting needed to hear our message. After I finished Christian got up..... who'd ever guess he would cry more than me?? lol He skipped three pages of his talk, bore his testimony and sat down. I've never felt the spirit so strongly in my life.
In the parking lot a man came up to us and began chit chatting. He mentioned that he had an investigator with him today. After our talk the investigator leaned over.... and said..... WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR THE TEMPLE??? ah!!! awesome right??!! You truly never know when someone is listening. I know without a doubt I was a tool in God's hands. To this day I still feel "powerful" and more aware of those around me.
Im so grateful that we had the oppurtunity to be sealed in the temple for eternity. I couldnt imagine a world without Christian and Brooklyn. People make mistakes, we sure did but What a great trial and learning experience these past two years have been. My life has been forever changed and i invite each of you if your not already worthy for the temple GET WORTHY, and GO OFTEN!!!!!

Sigh-

The past few weeks have been a blur...... between getting ready for finals, new position at work, a baby, and getting things in order so we can go to the temple has COMPLETELY worn me out. Tonight I let out a huge sigh of relief and all stress has left my body. For once, everything is falling into place.
Tonight was our interview to get our temple recommends. I was jumping out of my chair with excitement. We waited over a year and a half and FINALLY we get to be sealed for all eternity!! :)
Being a blonde, I signed my maiden name on my recommend.......... so we had to start all over. Then when asked about what date we were married... I replied November 26th, 2008. I was wrong haha. November 29th. The bishop had a good laugh over it and I now owe my husband a shake.
I can't explain the emotions that are going on inside me right now, its between crying and jumping for joy. I'm so grateful for Christian for sticking it through and being VERY patient. Grateful he's harding. Grateful he's an AMAZING DAD. Grateful for all the times he went out(in rain, snow, hail, middle of the night) to get me a diet coke so I could survive getting through the day. I love him and excited to finally be happily ever after together.
NOW on a completely different subject, Brooklyn is doing great!! She's running, picking her nose HA, still sucking her thumb, and most of all... DEVELOPING A HUGE ATTITUDE!!! wowee.... haha. I love her and think each day how lucky I am to have her.
My favorite time is picking her up from daycare..... I sneak in, and as soon as she sees me she gets an ENORMOUS smile on her face and runs with outstretched arms to give me the biggest hug! ........ Accomplishments for Brooklyn this week are.... drumroll please..... peeing in the toilet! YEEHA!!!!... pretty impresive for a 16 month old. We just had to inform her you wipe then toss it....not wipe your face and everything else haha GROSS. Anyways.. my favorite part of Princess and the Frog is coming up(crazy old lady that lives in a tree) so I'm going to end this post. Someday i'll get my camera cord and upload pictures to make these posts more fun to look at :)

SCARE!

Sorry i don't have any fun pictures to throw up, life has been crazy but I thought I'd give a little update :) My first semester has come to an end, and luckily I passed all my classes! One week to relax and then Micro,Bio Med, and Psychology here I come!
There's been a lot of fun suprises over the past two months. I got a new position at the hospital! As an endoscopy tech. If you say anything about butts, i'll slap you lol. I LOVE IT! It puts me one step closer to nursing, the people down there are genuine and have my back 100%!
Next BROOKLYNS SCARE! Friday I took brooklyn to the doctor because her temperature just wouldnt go away. 103 temp might I add! Also, I had noticed what looked like a HUGE blood blister on her big toe.... I should have kept my mouth shut. The doctor didnt seem concerned with high temperatures, the toe however is a different story! He took one look at it, got another doctor, then another doctor, til finally all the pediactric doctors were in our little room staring at her toe. They all were apalled and dumbfounded. My doctor kept asking if I had any blood disorders in my family. NONE ( I have pretty good genes :) ) Then he said he was calling Primarys, the wound clinic, and sending us over to the hospital. As soon as I walked out of the office the water works started. Who better call then my mom?? Once we got to the hospital I was greeted by my second mom and poopy pants hahaha. Thank goodness for good friends that can hold your baby while the vampires stick her with a needle. I sat right across from brooklyn and watched the shock come across her face then PAIN as the needle went in! .... Hardest thing ever. Hands down. The next part I thought would have been alot easier. The urine sample. Man was I wrong!! That little girl goes all the time but when I need her to she's dry as a whistle! We got a sugar water bottle from the womens floor and tried her to drink that.... along with some apple juice.... then waited TWO hours in the same day surgery waiting room. Magazines were scattered everywhere by the time brooklyn got down tearing the place apart. Anyways to make a long story short: The toe is just fine! The blister thingy fell off... or rather got pulled off by brooklyn, and the fevers are gone. whew, sigh of relief. Glad its all over and my little busy body is back!! Anyways.... til next time hope all is well!!!

AMazinG ParEntS!!!

Due to our crazy lives we needed an extreme babysitter for a week. Extreme babysitter=my family. They've taken her for a week at a time ever since she was two or three months old. This time however was the week from hell. SHE FINALLY CUT HER TOOTH!...so for the past week she's been forcing my mom to be her slave. Waking up ever couple of hours(or half hours some nights) being whiny and clingy... my poor family. I keep offering to come up and get her early but my mom would never accept defeat lol. So they've trudged on and taken her to school for math and show and tell :) (Karter is pretty proud to be an uncle.) She's been fighting sleep for a while now and luckily my dad has the magic touch. He sings to her while he's walking around... pretty sure its adorable.
So my last day of missing my baby is quickly coming to an end. Tomorrow I'll go pick her up in Pocatello and Christian and I's long week of date nights will come to an end. BUT.. having our Brooklyn back is better than a million date weeks!!!! Being a parent has to be the greatest gift in the world. Hopefully I can be as good as my parents!!!!

Hollywood here I come!!

Today was one of those days I dragged my feet climbing out of bed. Looking at the alarm clock wondering if I could sleep an extra half hour and still be to work on time. Then stressing at work all day because we were bombarded with patients. After having a guy fall on me, a lady try to strangle me, and cleaning up one mess after another I was EXHAUSTED and PISSED off! Luckily something highlighted my day! I got a phone call from our marketing director asking me if I wanted to be a model for billboards our work is putting up. UM HECK YA!! I'm stoked! So in two weeks I need to lose weight, color my hair, whiten my teeth and freshen up so I can look like a Barbie up on that sign! Keep your eyes open around bountiful area cause you'll see my funny face up on a board smiling back at you!!
